Suriname Balance of Trade
Suriname runs trade surpluses due to exports of bauxite. Suriname is also a net exporter of oil, gold, hardwood and bananas. The country is a net importer of fuel, food, clothing and machinery. Main trading partner is the United States (23 percent of total exports and 26 percent of imports). Others include: Netherlands, United Arab Emirates and Guyana.
