Foreign exchange reserves at the Swiss National Bank were at CHF 784 billion in December of 2022, the lowest since March 2020 and dropping from the upwardly revised CHF 791 billion in the previous month, pressured by a Swiss franc that hovers close to 10-month highs. Foreign exchange reserves at the Swiss National Bank were at CHF 817.2 billion in October of 2022 from the downwardly revised, two-year low of CHF 806.1 billion in the prior month, partially supported by the depreciation of the franc during the period. Still, it was the second-lowest reserve level since June 2020 and well below the record-high of CHF 946.7 billion from January, marking an unprecedented reversal of franc-selling intervention.
