Thailand Current Account Surplus Largest since 2020
Thailand’s current account surplus widened sharply to USD 4.8 billion in March 2023, more than doubling from the USD 1.1 billion surplus in the same month a year ago. It was the largest current account surplus since February 2020, as net services, primary income and secondary income posted a surplus of USD 0.4 billion, shifting from a deficit of USD 3.5 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year. Meanwhile, trade surplus fell slightly to USD 4.3 billion from USD 4.6 billion.

Thailand current account deficit widened to USD 1.3 billion in February 2023, from 0.9 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year. Trade surplus narrowed to USD 1.3 billion, from USD 2.6 billion in February 2022.
